  • Drive: Depart early and head to Mto Wa Mbu, entering the Great Rift Valley. The drive takes you through the Engaruaka Basin and into a semi-desert area, where you’ll encounter extinct volcanoes like Kitumbene and Gelai. The iconic Ol Doinyo Lengai, the "Mountain of God," will always be visible ahead of you.
  • Arrive at Falls Camp: Around midday, you will arrive at Falls Camp, located on the banks of the Engaresero River. This is a great place to relax and rejuvenate by either taking a refreshing shower or bathing in the river. Alternatively, take a short trek to the waterfalls hidden along the Western Rift Valley wall.
  • Evening Drive & Climb: In the evening, rest and prepare for your midnight adventure. You will embark on the Ol Doinyo Lengai climb, arriving at the peak where you’ll be able to witness the glowing lava from the summit.
  • Sunrise: After the strenuous climb, you will be rewarded with breathtaking sunrise views over the Great Rift Valley, stretching all the way to Kenya. Take time to appreciate the scenic beauty and capture stunning photographs.
  • Descent & Lunch: Begin your descent around midday and head toward Lake Natron, one of the major flamingo breeding grounds in East Africa.
  • Visit a Maasai Boma: On your way to Lake Natron, stop at a traditional Maasai Boma village to experience local Maasai culture and learn about their unique lifestyle.
  • Overnight at Falls Camp: Return to Falls Camp for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.
  • Drive to Arusha: After breakfast, drive back to Arusha, with the option to stop and purchase some beautiful Makonde carvings, which Tanzania is famous for. These intricate wooden carvings are a perfect souvenir to remember your trip by.
  • Optional Stop at Mesarani Snake Park: For those interested in wildlife, take a detour to visit Mesarani Snake Park, where you can see a variety of snakes, many of which are typically elusive in the wild due to their natural shyness.
  • Overnight in Arusha: Arrive in Arusha and check in to your lodge for the night.

Departure Day:

  • Transfer to Airport or Arusha: After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight or continue your stay in Arusha.
